Baccarat

One table game that can be found in both online and land based casinos is baccarat. In the game of baccarat, players are matched against the dealer rather than each other. A game of baccarat can be played with a lot of players. In fact, a game may have almost 15 people in it. In order to keep large games like this moving, multiple dealers are involved. Sometimes there can be as many as three. The object of the game of baccarat is to obtain a hand with a count as close to nine as possible without going over nine.

Game Play

Like most card games, it starts with an ante where players put in a bet to play. After this, two cards are then dealt to each player. After the deal, a round of betting ensues. Player must determine which kind of bet they are making. There can be 3 different kinds of bets which are for the dealer, player or tie. The bet players make are predicting who will win the round. The player or dealer whose hand is closest to nine wins.

Card Values

The cards have different values in the game of baccarat. Aces count for one point. The ten as well as all face cards are worth 0. The high value cards in this game are the numbered cards. They count for the amount imprinted on the card. So, if a player has a 5, then they have 5 points.

Dispelling some Myths about Roulette

Even though we’ve come long way in our ability to retrieve and send
information, there is still a great deal of inaccurate information that is
spread around. Sometimes the source of the information is incorrect while some
information is passed on to other people. This is true for many casino games
where myths circulate quite frequently. The game of roulette is a
traditional casino game that had evolved over time as well as the myth
associated with it.

All wheels are the same

A commonly held belief is that the wheels used in roulette are all the same.
Many people believe that no matter which roulette game they play, they will
be using the same one. This is actually false. Since there are different
types of roulette games, there are also different types of roulette wheels
that are used. The most people roulette wheels would include the American
and the European. The major difference between the two is that the American
roulette wheel has one additional space on it. This makes the house’s edge a
bit better.

All odds are the same

Another myth that goes with the previous mentioned problem would involve the
odds of roulette. Many people also believe that no matter which kind of
roulette they play, the odds remain the same. Again this is not true since
there are different wheels that are used. Of the two most popular wheels,
the European wheel has the better odds for players since it has one less
space.

Casino Slot Machine History

Slot machines have long been popular in both online and land based casino games. Slot machines can vary in design depending upon their age. Many people are surprised when they learn that slot machines aren’t a new invention. They actually have been around for quite some time now.

The first slot machine was created in the late 1800′s. It was created by a man named Charles Fey who was from the United States. This first slot machine was known as the Liberty Bell. The name stemmed from the fact that a Liberty Bell symbol was included on the machine’s reels. The biggest payout with this machine involved having your spin land on the Liberty Bells. Three of these exactly would provide the most money payout. The Liberty Bell slot machine also featured other symbols on its reels including spades, horseshoes, hearts and diamonds.

Once the creation of the Liberty Bell became public knowledge, more and more people wanted to play these new machines. Therefore, slot machines became produced in mass to attempt to meet this demand. At the time of the Liberty Bell’s invention, many places did not permit gambling, therefore, some slot machines were designed to payout chewing gum in lieu of money. These chewing gum machines also changed the images on their reels to different fruit illustrations. Specifically the fruit used were the flavours of chewing gum one could win. Despite the passage of over 100 years, many slot machines today still feature these fruit symbols. However, they no longer pay out chewing gum.

In the later part of the 1960′s, the slot machine again underwent a change. Electro-mechanics were integrated into the slot machine which allows the machine to be run more automatically. This meant that a casino attendant was no longer needed to monitor the machine. The machine could automatically payout winnings. This newly designed slot machine did not necessarily need to have a lever on it but many still remained in case a player preferred to use it.

The next major change in slot machines came in 1996. At this time, video gaming was integrated into the machine. Currently, this is the most used sort of slot machine.
